HADDISCOE - Preceptory
Haddiscoe was not necessarily a “major” Templar house (like some preceptories in Lincolnshire or elsewhere), but a working manor that generated revenue for the Order. The Templar estate at Haddiscoe comprised not just farmland but buildings: e.g., a hall (“aulam”), a kitchen (“coquina”), stables (“stabul’”), a chamber (possibly for knights), and even a chapel
The same inventory suggests agricultural output: they kept livestock (oxen, sheep), farmed grains (wheat, oats, etc.), and managed typical manorial operations
